Peeeeeeeeter! You should of stole a shotgun instead! Oh God! Please don't die! [I know there is a slim chance of that happening, but still!]
I reaaaaaaally hope that this swamp monster just takes them down to his lair for tea and crumpets, and he's only doing this because he doesn't know how to ask properly.
Sorry to have been so sparce with commenting lately, but the boys have been throughly enjoying it. This last bit has been scary enough that my youngest (he's 6)has not slept in his own bed the past couple of nights, LOL. Keep up the good work.
Ohhhh...part of me is happy the stories are that affecting, but part of me feels really bad. Tell him I really didn't want to scare him that bad!
If you think you should ever edit the story, please do. I hope he likes the story, and he's not just freaked out!
Tell him this, too: the thing to remember in any of these stories is that there are scary things in life (not monsters, but tough times and getting sick and losses we all go through), but that with bravery and the help of good friends, YOU WILL ALWAYS MAKE IT THROUGH.
Tell him that. If there's anything he takes away from these stories, I hope it's that.
Friends and family...I meant "with the help of good friends and family." I was just thinking of Dill more than Grandfather, but Grandfather loves Peter and does a lot to make sure he's as safe as possible. He just doesn't show it much, so I forget it sometimes, too.
PETER AND THE VAMPIRES is a horror/comedy web novel (and a free podcast!)about a normal, 10-year-old kid who moves into a sinister town filled with supernatural horribleness. The series is composed of different "monster of the week" stories - kind of like THE X-FILES crossed with THE SIMPSONS (if Mr. Burns were a ghoul and something terrifying lived in the town dump). "Peter And The Dead Men" is the first story in the collection. A new page is posted every day.

Sion Ewig,
