Is it bad that I'm kind of pleased I got 9/10 on the pop quiz? (Didn't get FDR but then I'm kind of rubbish about American History.)

You'd think Dill would know better by now. I guess he was in a very bad place emotionally though.

How many ways can this go wrong? Well, since this story isn't called Peter and the totally helpful and honest pixie I think we can assume Snot has an ulterior motive...

You can use that for a title, by the way, Darren. Free of charge. No foolin'.

Thromoni = An Iron Age Briton tribe settled around modern-day Brimingham. Notable for leaving inscribed records depicting super-human figured battling. Some historians believe it to be an interesting insight into early religions, while others believe that the Thromoni were simply the first civilization to invent comic books.

I found a mistake:

“Half credit,” Mrs. Cashew snapped. “Pearl Harbor is a place. The bombing is what started the war. Number eight, 1945. Number nine, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, though I will accept FDR or Franklin Roosevelt.”

Mrs. Cashew gave the wrong answer to number eight when she was announcing the answers.

Haha awesome, Peter thinks someone's slipped him drugs! I'd have leapt to the conclusion that Dill was the one on drugs. (Or a bizarre magic spell that makes Dill know history!) How likely is it that Cashew accuses him of cheating...? Love the "this question's against my religion" thing Dill does. He's not as stupid as he seems when he puts his mind to it :D

Damn you Rubberduck, you got one more than me! I couldn't remember whether Pearl Harbour was bombed in '41 or '42 (and wouldn't have a hope of knowing about American presidents).

WV: equat. As in "All are equat, but some are more equat than others".

You should be pleased! I bet you 80% of adults in the US wouldn't get 9 out of 10. Maybe higher. I know you're from the UK (right?), and I figure you guys have a better school system in general, so for the UK I would put it at...I don't know. Better than the US, but probably still not that high.

Yep, he wasn't having a very bad day. And we're all susceptible to bad decisions on very bad days.

Actually, Peter and the totally helpful and honest pixie was the working title of the story!

Love the V-word.

Good catch! Sorry about that.

Yeah, the drugs thing seemed funnier!

And we get to do the anti-drugs message. "Kids, don't do drugs, or your slacker friends will start scoring way higher than you on quizzes."

Ah...yeah...I stole the "this question's against my religion" straight out of CALVIN & HOBBES. Gotta be honest. It was the right spot to rip it off - Dill is extremely close to Calvin in his troublemaking spirit, though he's not nearly as smart or imaginative.

On the other hand, I'd much rather babysit Dill than Calvin. And I'd rather have a werewolf as an ally than a kid with a make-believe tiger.
