Was the wistful look over Peter's MOTHER or missing having those kind of moments with GWEN'S mother?
And can someone remind me what happened to her?

I wondered that, too. Probably over Gwen's mother, since there's been no indication he fancies Peter's mother.

Cool, I want a magic necklace of magic protection! Do you think Grandfather secretly sells them on eBay?

Also the chapters in the email are labelled 20-23, whereas this page says 17-19.

Typo: "It [I] think it’s supposed to be…pretty"

Whassup! I think it's mostly that he remembers arguing with his own wife, and even something unpleasant is cause for wistful remembrances now that his wife is gone. Or maybe he's thinking something along the lines of, "You two wouldn't argue if you knew how petty it all was, and how short life is."

Gwen's mom died giving birth to her.

Although, I cannot lie, I have toyed with the idea of Peter's mom and Mr. Wainwright getting together. I don't know if it will come to pass - there's so many subplots and minor characters that could use a little more attention, but haven't been conducive to the main stories lately (see: Dept. Jenkins, Eric's romance with Melissa). We shall see, we shall see. And that's not me being evasive - I literally have no idea where Melissa and Eric are going.

Cat -
True...no overt indication, certainly. But if they do get together, now you can point to this 'wistful look' as the starting point of indications!

I think he gets them OFF eBay, that's what I think.

And on not posting a new Blogger page: yup, I'm just lazy sometimes...

Um the Muse -
Thanks!
