So glad Enid didn't turn out to be secretly evil. I was kind of afraid that Grandfather's "All witches are evil" thing would be proven right after all, but thankfully, no.

But I still want "Jaywalker of the witching world" on a T-shirt.

WV: horsie: No fair, that's a real word! Well, sort of. In kid-speak, anyway. Well, maybe I will just have to decide that it's also the name of a particular type of seaweed with mild hallucinogenic properties, found only around the Orkney Islands.

MissLynx -

Yeah, I originally did consider having Enid stay...but she would have turned into the go-to solution for all their problems. "Oh, there's a monster? Go get Enid!" "Oh, there's a ghost? Go get Enid!" "Oh, you have a hangnail? Go get Enid!"

Well, not quite that bad...but close.

Actually, I also toyed with her teaching one of the kids magic. But for the time being, anyway, I think that's off the table.

For one thing, I don't want this turning into HARRY POTTER AND THE AMERICAN RIP-OFF.

For another, having one of the kids learn magic is a little too close to Willow in BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER.

Besides, Gwen's got her guns, Dill's a werewolf, and Peter...

...well, we'll have to see about him.

And you're right, I should totally put that "Jaywalker" t-shirt on Cafe Press...
