Wow...Jenkins needs to remove that stick lodged up his "4th point of contact" as my wonderful military hubby puts it. ;-) What a JERK! Although I DO picture Tommy Lee Jones as him...if not Bruce Campbell. Yes, I know that's quite the difference, but they, oddly enough, seem to fit. He's a monster without the obvious horns, scales, fins or fur sometimes!
Oh goodie, are favorite cop is there and wanting to pin stuff on the boys again. We know Peter and Dill were defending themselfs but Jenkins wouldn't belive it anyway.
Talk about one time he should have slipped in the back door. Or even his window if he could have.
I think that it's a little odd that Officer Jenkins keeps trying to pin things on the boys, no matter how improbable, just because they happened to be there at the time. If I were him, I'd start looking more suspiciously at their families. Maybe the boys are only a front to remove suspicion from the grandpa, maybe Dill's dad does drugs when he's supposed to be taking care of the kids, etc.
yeah I have to agree. Just what does the good deputy think the boys did at this frat house. Is it just some petty antagonism, or does he really think two boys actively contributed to the deaths of much older men? I mean we know they did but how would someone ever come to that conclusion? He just seems like the kind of person who was always a bully and went into uniform so he could be a bully with the law on his side. (Regretably they do exist. :()
Ok, I deleted my last comment because it was way harsher in tone than intended. Really the point was that I wish Grandfather would step in and put a halt to this questioning. The boys don't have to say anything at all to Deputy Jenkins
vword: pshied - what you are if someone pshaws you
AnakMoon - Come on, now, Dill's in the same boat as Peter...
Mary - He has a "pet stick housed in his butt."
Tommy Lee Jones would be great... Bruce Campbell would be EPIC. Except I don't see Jenkins as funny...but I would LOVE to see what Bruce would do with it.
But I think I would still cast Tommy Lee Jones just to stay closer to the tone.
As if.
daymon34 - Definitely in the window.
Um the Muse - Yes, Jenkins needs to get a different hobby.
Or go out with more women from the mall.
THF - What's funny in your comment is that Jenkins is RIGHT. Peter killed people, even if it was in self defense.
Jenkins is RIGHT in this instance...I never realized that until now...
But he IS a bully with a badge, that's true.
Stormy Llew - Just wait. GF's coming to the rescue.
PETER AND THE VAMPIRES is a horror/comedy web novel (and a free podcast!)about a normal, 10-year-old kid who moves into a sinister town filled with supernatural horribleness. The series is composed of different "monster of the week" stories - kind of like THE X-FILES crossed with THE SIMPSONS (if Mr. Burns were a ghoul and something terrifying lived in the town dump). "Peter And The Dead Men" is the first story in the collection. A new page is posted every day.

Come on Dill, ignore your sodden trousers and pipe up here, save Peter!
