With as much back luck the family has, keeping a shotgun beside/on the bed is a good idea. Still it's a wonder that they lived to collect so many.

Maybe Gus doesn't like one of the others that came back. Or maybe it is just because that Peter is a good kid.

Hah, with as much bad luck as the family has, I think sleeping with a shotgun's a really BAD idea! :D

Aw it's nice to see the more human side of Grandfather in his memories of his wife.

WV: splig. An onomatopoeic word to describe the sound of a shotgun going off accidentally in the night, muffled by pillows.

Ooh a bit in there about Peter's Grandmother.
I'd love to see a prequel or more backstory come out of this

I agree, the snippet of story about Peter's Grandmother is nice. Makes Grandfather seem more like a normal human, sorta. Some more backstory would be nice sometime!

Or maybe it's something else...

Haha! Maybe so...

Mary -
Grandma will figure prominently in a story I have planned - but it's probably two years away at our current rate.

DontPanik -
I'll see what I can do!

Darren- I can handle that.
This story is too good not to!
