PETER AND THE VAMPIRES is a horror/comedy web novel (and a free podcast!)about a normal, 10-year-old kid who moves into a sinister town filled with supernatural horribleness. The series is composed of different "monster of the week" stories - kind of like THE X-FILES crossed with THE SIMPSONS (if Mr. Burns were a ghoul and something terrifying lived in the town dump). "Peter And The Dead Men" is the first story in the collection. A new page is posted every day.

Motorbikes bad, but a ten-year-old's party is A-OK?
Actually Ms. Valinda arriving to Peter's party on the back of Jax's motorbike would be a heck of a twist...
Also, and because I hate all your brains:
"Ah, finally, she's here." Peter turned. Grandfather had stalked out of the house in one of his best suits to meet the latest arrival. It wasn't Ms. Valinda. But it was close.
"Oh jeez. Peter, did you go and invite every teacher in the school too?" Gwen asked.
"I invited her, actually." Grandfather said. "I, ah, heard about how damn near every child in Duskerville was going to be on my land and decided I needed more oversight to keep the house from burning down. I met Ms. Uttman, here, when I was in town picking up left-handed widgets, and, well, we seem to have compatible personalities..."
"Seamus, I told you to call me Enid!" The subsitute teacher was completely different from in school, looking happy, embarassed, and...blushing?
Peter heard Mom drop something behind him, but he was too busy trying not to puke a little to pay attention. Dill, meanwhile, had a thoughtful look on his face.
"So...can Peter call you Grandma?"
Oxbgods = What you say when you are surprised by a bovine.
I'm back! I finally got a working computer. Hopefully it doesn't break any time soon.
