Well, I certainly wasn't expecting THAT.
I really liked the descriptions of how Ms. Valinda became less glamourous - it made a good picture in my mind, which is what you want from descriptions, I guess.
Hrm...so far Enid's been less 'evil' than Veloria. I'm guessing this story is a ploy by Veloria to gain trust while actually working with Enid for some nefarious purpose. But then I have been reading a lot of Bleach lately.
Of course is all is as she says it is then staffroom politics just got a lot more interesting.
(I'm actually in the middle of a course on witchcraft and demonology, as well as another one on the history of the supernatural. By coincidence I've just finished a paper on witches for the second one!)
Hesse = a Spanish pirate noted for his enormous fancy figureheads. These intimidated his opponents, and were also filled with gunpowder for hilarious ramming attacks.
I was practically in hysterics during the whole "No, not like the Wizard of Oz... No, not like Harry Potter... etc." conversation, because I'm pretty sure I've had that conversation, way back before I learned to avoid the W-word at all costs (well, in favour of the other W-word Gwen suggests).
WV: gurru: a large flightless bird found in Western Australia, known for its ill-temper and ability to spit the gravel from its crop impressive distances, with disturbingly good aim.
Err, just so you know, I used to be able to (and enjoy!) reading the story, but for some reason every single page has no story text from 'Peter and the Dead Men' page 19 included for a few months now.
Any idea what could cause that ?

Haha! GOOD! You guys are too smart, sometimes, anticipating the plot twists weeks before they happen...I'm glad I can pack one or two surprises in there...
The courses you're taking sound pretty kickass! Are you studying for something we should know about, Rubberduck? Like...Male Slayer in Sunnydale, maybe?

Yup: the books came out, and I deleted everything so as not to have my paid content competing with my free stuff! Although now I think it probably wasn't that great an idea.
