Greaaat, this whole story arc is going to give me nightmares!
I remember being in a department store as a kid and SWEARING that I saw a mannequin's head move.
As I got older, I realized that it probably had a security camera inside of it, but it still scares the heck out of me just thinking about it.

Hey Mary!

Ha ha...sorry about that. My only suggestion is to always read the pages during the daytime, with lots of light around. You won't get the full effect that way, but hey...

And yes, this whole story came out of my being EXTREMELY freaked out as a kid by a Levi's jeans commercial where just a pair of Levi's went walking around, and a SPIDER-MAN cartoon where he fights a lot of mannequins who have come to life. That whole thing on Page 5 about the jeans creeping up and down outside his house at night TOTALLY came from the Levi's commercial.

Hope that doesn't give you an extra nightmare.

I really loved the line just near the end when Dill goes,

Dill was fidgeting now. “Why are you always freaking me out?” he whined.

After the previous stories it is finally getting to the point that when Peter says something is going on Dill realises that it probably is and they are probably in for a whole load trouble.

On another note did you see the First New Doctor Who Christmas special, especially where Rose ends up in the back room of the shop she works at surrounded by mannequins which suddenly start moving?

Hey Kurt,

Nope, I actually have never seen a DOCTOR WHO episode, so I promise I wasn't ripping it off. SPIDER-MAN cartoons and Levi's commercials, yes. DOCTOR WHO, no.

Watch the Doctor episode, that will give you the creeps real quick. Not to mention the killer cristmas tree in the next season opener.

As adults we tend to ignore what doesn't make sense, or think of a different reason for why it would happen.
