Now here's to hoping the park rangers or someone of authority finds them and the other boys before the monster disappears and they look like troublemakers :(
I would say 'so anti-climatic' but knowing you, I doubt that's not all. Shiz will still go down and the battle will still be on.
Though that might be the end of the monster which is sad, but at the same time great because then it wont kidnap anymore children. Speaking of which, they still need to get the boys out of the hole and face Peter's mom.
If I was Peter, I think I would of rather fight the monster still then deal with an enraged mother, a angry park ranger and an annoying sister who will just copy everything his mother says. Also with knowing that if crap like this is happening now, more will soon join it.
Poor Peter and Dilly. They've got lots of luck, yet at the same time no luck at all.
PETER AND THE VAMPIRES is a horror/comedy web novel (and a free podcast!)about a normal, 10-year-old kid who moves into a sinister town filled with supernatural horribleness. The series is composed of different "monster of the week" stories - kind of like THE X-FILES crossed with THE SIMPSONS (if Mr. Burns were a ghoul and something terrifying lived in the town dump). "Peter And The Dead Men" is the first story in the collection. A new page is posted every day.

"It was like the nastiest piñata you ever saw, dude!"
Quote of the week.
And I hate to admit it, but I agree the monster is a more sympathetic character than Beth. By design, I'm sure.
