So assuming all this is true, we just need to know why Prescott's dark side has hypoxia...is this a psychosomatic thing, where being metaphorically starved of bad feeling makes him appear literally starved? The other option is that Dr. V. and his wonderful concoctions have something to do with it.

In which case, I hope he doesn't find out about Dark Peter. Although Dark Peter facing off against Dr. V. and evil Prescott would be spectacular.

V-word was 'sights'. Come on, you can do better than that!

Heh. Dark Peter vs. Prescott's monster. That would be pretty cool. It's probably a bad idea to think of Dark Peter as the kids' ace, but it would definitely be cool.

Tivendo: Spanish for watching TV. Figuratively, it also means watching eagerly to see what develops.

And here I was thinking devious Dr. V had gone tempting Dr. Prescott with his chemicals, when it appears that Dr. Prescott may have offered a bargain with Dr. V for his chemicals, a bargain that may have included getting the kids to the asylum perhaps?

Rubberduck -

Well...the writerly explanation is this: I really wanted him to be blue for some reason. Creepiness factor.

The Peterverse explanation: in order to metabolize the drug, a great deal of Dr. Prescott's blood is diverted to the liver, where it breaks down the chemical. The diversion of the blood is seen most strikingly in the hypoxia of the skin. Likewise, the drug causes an extreme but temporary cerebral edema in the prefrontal cortex, causing a bulging of the eyes. Per wikipedia:

The most typical psychological term for functions carried out by the prefrontal cortex area is executive function. Executive function relates to abilities to differentiate among conflicting thoughts, determine good and bad, better and best, same and different, future consequences of current activities, working toward a defined goal, prediction of outcomes, expectation based on actions, and social "control" (the ability to suppress urges that, if not suppressed, could lead to socially-unacceptable outcomes).

Since the Duskerville Curse may be partly at work here, it exacerbates the effect of the drug.

So, yeah...that.

And Dark Peter vs. Dark Preston would be AWESOME.

He's like an ace out of THE EVIL DEAD 2. Bring him out, say the wrong thing -

Good times.

Rai -
Welllllll...don't go trusting everything Dr. V says just yet.
