I like how you've turned the classic situation on its head here - instead of the evil personality taking over, the 'good' one wants to let it out. Assuming we can trust a word Dr. V. says.
Just finished rereading the stories up to Helpers - it's amazing how much character development subtly sneaks up on you, even reading all at once rather than day by day! Good job.
Two young women at Charterton U? That place has not had the best luck...I wonder what Jenkins has to say about that, given that he thinks he's already caught the culprit? And that could easily have been Melissa...
Gadiss = The scale you use for measuring nostalgia. For example, for me the original Pokemon theme song clocks in at 160 Gadiss Units, while the X-Men theme lags slightly at 120 (I was younger when it was on).
Clarification: Jenkins thinks he's caught the culprit for the deaths of Jon, Chubbs, and Charlie. I'm guessing his paranoid mind will connect these latest murders. I bet an attack by Preston's monster would look like a werewolf attack.
WV: beethooz: 1. a Flemish term for a specialized facility for processing pickled beets. 2. A nickname assigned to Beethoven during an ill-fated attempt on the part of a public broadcasting network to interest inner-city children in classical music.
Rubberduck - Glad you like the slight twist on Jekyll and Hyde!
And thanks for the kind words about character development!
That's funny, I'm having trouble remembering...Jenkins thinks Dr. V killed Kyle, Charlie, Chubbs, and Jon, right? I think he makes some sort of statement to that effect in FRANKENSTEIN or something.
But I think the Boogeymen (in Duskerville)/Prescott (in Charterton) murders are very much still open right now.
Huh...I should address Jenkins thoughts on that at some future point...
Misslynx - Bodes even WORSE now!
Um the Muse - Thanks for the double 'or,' you were dead on. What was the other one, did you find it?
And as for the vials, why you always gotta go doubtin' Dr. V, huh? What he ever do to YOU?
PETER AND THE VAMPIRES is a horror/comedy web novel (and a free podcast!)about a normal, 10-year-old kid who moves into a sinister town filled with supernatural horribleness. The series is composed of different "monster of the week" stories - kind of like THE X-FILES crossed with THE SIMPSONS (if Mr. Burns were a ghoul and something terrifying lived in the town dump). "Peter And The Dead Men" is the first story in the collection. A new page is posted every day.

Oh dear. This does not bode well at all...

Uh-oh. I forsee someone using their vials. I wonder what's really in them, though...
I saw two typos, I think. I'll have to go back and the chapter again to remember them and where they are. One of them was a second "or."
