[Off Topic] Thanks for asking, Darren. Yes, I'm fine. This week's earthquakes here in Christchurch, New Zealand (one magnitude 6.3, one 5.5 and several above 4) have added a lot to the building and road destruction since September last year. Since then we've had over 7,000 aftershocks and the destruction just keeps on going. I'm OK but the house now has about $60,000 damage (all fully insured).
Some typos (maybe).
It was like a surgeon had opened him up and scooped out the front of his brain like a cantaloupe, took [taken] out the extra bits of skull, then put him back together.
I'm glad you're ok, MistyCat. Sounds pretty bad down there.
On topic: I was kind of surprised that none of the kids interrupted for an explanation--surely more than half of what the doctor was saying should have gone over their heads?
MistyCat - Whoa! I'm glad you're okay. That's terrible - I lived in Los Angeles for years and we never had anything like what you guys are going through.
Keep safe!
Um the Muse - Yeah, I figured they were concentrating on running - at least, that distracted them from worrying too much about Dr. V's finer points. I should probably scale back a little on the Veedermeier-ese, though.
PETER AND THE VAMPIRES is a horror/comedy web novel (and a free podcast!)about a normal, 10-year-old kid who moves into a sinister town filled with supernatural horribleness. The series is composed of different "monster of the week" stories - kind of like THE X-FILES crossed with THE SIMPSONS (if Mr. Burns were a ghoul and something terrifying lived in the town dump). "Peter And The Dead Men" is the first story in the collection. A new page is posted every day.

None of the crazies were [was] left standing.
Cheers,
