PETER AND THE VAMPIRES is a horror/comedy web novel (and a free podcast!)about a normal, 10-year-old kid who moves into a sinister town filled with supernatural horribleness. The series is composed of different "monster of the week" stories - kind of like THE X-FILES crossed with THE SIMPSONS (if Mr. Burns were a ghoul and something terrifying lived in the town dump). "Peter And The Dead Men" is the first story in the collection. A new page is posted every day.

Whoa, I wonder if this dream is guilt inspired, or if Gus is sending a message from beyond the grave to Peter...
Nah, we were all wrong. This isn't a ghost (or zombie) story at all: Peter is up against the Nightmare Beast! The morgue is simply a red herring!
Uptab: the act of betting how high your firends' beer tabs will go. The trick is that the "winner" also has to pay a round for everyone who placed a bet. This spawned the now crude phrase, "up your [tab]" which originally meant that you had stingy friends.
Oh man, I need to get caught up! Spent a few months with no internet, and I'm back somewhere around the end of Frankenstein.... Just wanted to say hi, and will post again when I'm caught up!
