PETER AND THE VAMPIRES is a horror/comedy web novel (and a free podcast!)about a normal, 10-year-old kid who moves into a sinister town filled with supernatural horribleness. The series is composed of different "monster of the week" stories - kind of like THE X-FILES crossed with THE SIMPSONS (if Mr. Burns were a ghoul and something terrifying lived in the town dump). "Peter And The Dead Men" is the first story in the collection. A new page is posted every day.

I am almost willing to bet that it isn't Gus in the back, but then I wouldn't know who would be in it then.
Well it is a small town so maybe they don't think to lock up the morgue.
Oh, building tension! I'm getting into this story very quickly!
It's probably Gus in the bag.
I'm just guessing that he either looks like he's asleep or looks REALLY bad.
Maybe I'm just desensitized from my foray with dead bodies, but I can't imagine someone gasping if he looked like he was just asleep. :)
I don't really have any guesses myself, but I'm kind of leaning towards him either looking really bad or *GASP* being aliiiiiiiiiiiiive!! :O I'm thinking this is secretly a magical morgue where the people come back to life!
Best case scenario: Peter gasps. The body already smells horrible. Peter says his goodbye then leaves. The end.
Best case scenario that still allows for a story: Peter gasps. The bag is empty! Gus tells Peter that it wasn't his fault but...
