He had stood up there in the wooden box beside the judge and put his hand on the Bible and swore to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
Shouldn't that be "sworn"? More important, welcome back!
Don't worry, slow is fine - you've earned yourself a LOT of leeway as far as I'm concerned.
Prediction! The Boogeymen are (this time) all in Peter's head...but no less dangerous for that. I'm thinking some kind of fear spirit that follows Peter (because of the curse) from the therapist, where it usually hangs out to prey on open minds.

A quick Q or 2... is this "GF and the Bogeymen" or "Peter and the Boogeymen" (note the different spellings of Bogeymen, 'o' or 'oo')? Also, have you decided the names of the other "books" and what stories they will contain? My kids keep guessing and wanted to know. Thanks!
Rubberduck - What up, RD! Awww, thanks. I'll try to keep a constant schedule of a page a day, though.
Predictions! Yes! Everybody come and put your money down...who'll take odds on Rubberduck's theory?
WOW, I'd heard of Cassowaries, but didn't know much about them. That is a scary bird. Like the guy says, like a Velociraptor with feathers.
Mina - Thank you!
MistyCat - Thanks! And yes, it's definitely 'boogeyMEN' plural. I'll give that much away.
Kyle - Thanks!
I thought for awhile about the name...I grew up saying 'Boogeymen' (where the oo is like 'book' - or 'wookie').
'Bogeyman' is probably more correct since it's closer to the original 'bogart' or 'bogie'...but I dunno. I can't force myself to say 'bogeyman' where it rhymes with 'fogey,' as in 'old fogey.'
All the different pronunciations are supposed to be correct and vary by region. I might rewrite it, but for now I'm goin' with 'Boogey.'
Plus, that pronunciation will enable Dill to make a good joke later in the story.
As for titles, sure! Here's a few coming up in the next year or two (or three, maybe):
Peter and the Asylum Peter and the Witches Peter and the Demon Peter and the Ghost
Mina - I'd never heard of Slenderman before. But now that I googled him...
OH YES.
Peter will DEFINITELY be meeting Slenderman someday.
PETER AND THE VAMPIRES is a horror/comedy web novel (and a free podcast!)about a normal, 10-year-old kid who moves into a sinister town filled with supernatural horribleness. The series is composed of different "monster of the week" stories - kind of like THE X-FILES crossed with THE SIMPSONS (if Mr. Burns were a ghoul and something terrifying lived in the town dump). "Peter And The Dead Men" is the first story in the collection. A new page is posted every day.

Yay! A page. I already checked earlier today but I decided I'd check again. I'm glad I did.
Oh and, welcome back.

Images similar to symbols but without any apparent meaning.
Good to see you back again.
Boogymen/Boogyman. I'm reading a lot into this.

Nice to have you back!

Speaking of upcoming titles, may I suggest that Peter have an encounter with Slenderman?
Though I may not be able to read it. Slenderman is terrifying...
Todd -
Good catch! Thanks!
And thanks for the 'welcome back!'
Rubberduck -
