Wow, I was blinking back tears by the end of this chapter.

Now Peter knows that he is cared for by his Grandpa.

And Grimoire is a coward that only approches after the fight has been finished. I am sure that some kind of arrangement can be reached as long as Grimoire can calm down, or a new leader steps forward.

Ok, I'm horribly confused. Did I miss something, or have we not yet been told WHAT the "mannequins" really are?

And... AWWWWW!!! @ the end of this page!

The mannequins were the spirits of the trees, they were carved into mannequins, and when they rose up and attacked, they were destroyed. These mannequins are the spirits of the originals now in new bodies. At least as best as I can tell from the story so far.

I don't think Peter knows yet, either.

So kind!
So loving!
So kickass!

I think me and his would get along so well... He has a huge library full of books. I love cryptzoology books!

Awwww.

As we shall soon see, Grimoire's not exactly open to negotiating.

Andrea -
Awwww!

And I've been pretty ambiguous, so your confusion is well-justified, Andrea.

Todd -
Exactly. However...

You are extremely close to being right on the head. Some details are slightly different, but it's awesome how well you summarized that up.

Ha ha! I never, EVER would have guessed Grandfather would inspire such love from so many people (especially being the grumpy old coot that he is). I'm glad you like him so much, cuz he needs some friends. I guess, in a way, he's the unsung hero, huh? Because it's a lot easier to like everybody else. Grandfather doesn't have that luxury...
