Taking credit for your invisible friends' accomplishments and lying to Grandfather - this is not going to end well.
WV: turethol: a drug briefly popular in Victorian England, which was purported to assist in seances by making it easier to see ghosts. It became less popular when people discovered that frequent use led to seeing ghosts everywhere else, too.
And since my first attempt at posting resulted in a "503 - service unavailable" error, I know have a new v-word:
readiste: "Franglais" term for a compulsive reader. (OK, that one was too easy.)

daymon34 - I think Grandpa knows exactly what is going on, he just doesn't want to tell Peter what it is, so thing continue to be problematic, as usual!

PETER AND THE VAMPIRES is a horror/comedy web novel (and a free podcast!)about a normal, 10-year-old kid who moves into a sinister town filled with supernatural horribleness. The series is composed of different "monster of the week" stories - kind of like THE X-FILES crossed with THE SIMPSONS (if Mr. Burns were a ghoul and something terrifying lived in the town dump). "Peter And The Dead Men" is the first story in the collection. A new page is posted every day.

Well at least Mom is going to be happy for now, and Grandpa knows something is amiss but can't put his finger on it.
Still no idea what these things look like though.
To be fair, Peter didn't lie to Grandpa..
He didn't see anything strange during the day... He just got a little 'goop' that healed him at night
