Yet another case where her being "Demon spawn" comes in handy.
I'm loving seeing this side of Peter's mother and am wondering what it will lead to.
Has she known all along what exactly her father and family IS?
Hopefully she'll get the chance to show the same bravery that he and Peter have...
This story is scaring me more than some of the others have but it makes me want to re-read my copy of Bradbury's The Halloween Tree (since it reminds me of it.)
Well... at least Dill didn't comment on how his sister succeeded in taking down one of the Trick or Treaters where Peter failed...

Right to the stones, that will bring a guy down real fast. I am sure Sack regrets going for Beth now.
Well I say it's time for Peter and company to find something to fend them off with.
Eeeeee!!! *bounces* I love Beth so much! This is possibly my favourite scene in the entire saga so far.
Hell hath no fury like a pissed-off toddler with a full set of teeth - trust me on that one, I'm a mom! And I know from experience just how damn effective the going-limp trick is too. I think every kid develops that one instinctively by the age of 18 months or so. Mine certainly did...
First time I've liked Beth. Ha ha.

Yes, it was nice to write her as something more than Dill's nemesis. I LIKE her as Dill's nemesis, but this was a good chance to shake it up a little. And I'll have to check out The Halloween Tree, I've never read it!

That's actually a really good joke. I might just have to insert it into the rewrite!

'Sack' was an unfortunate choice, I guess, for the villain to attack Beth...

Ha ha! I'm glad you liked that scene so much! Beth should be The Destroyer (from MANNEQUINS).

Awww, come on. You didn't like her when she chased the Changeling around? C'MON.
Darren-
Sometimes I've had to struggle to find it along with Something Wicked This Way Comes. (I now own both! :)
They even aired an animated version on the Cartoon network a few years back.
Check Amazon, they have it in paperback for $5.50
The gist of the story is kids traveling through the history of Halloween. to save another friend's soul.
From this page I have the feeling that Beth will be a kung fu MASTER when she grows up. She certainly has those fighting instincts down. :D
