Now there's a chapter in dire need of a DUN DUN DUN! at the end.

Grandfather has a lot of respec wit da kidz. I wonder what's been going on that the nerds know he's involved with weird stuff - does the whole town know, or are these the conspiracy theorist kids? I'm leaning towards the latter, as they seem interested in Dr. V.'s illicit head-freezing as well.

As far as philosophy goes - yeah, a lot of the time it just seems a bit weird. But, if you come across something that really seems ridiculous, probably it's to illustrate a point - no-one really belives in philosophical zombies, but any theory of mind has to show how it deals with them.

Reven = A retelling of Edgar Allan Poe's classic in a Caribbean setting.

"Once upon a midnight dreary, while me pondered weak and weary...

Quoth de reven, 'it's not happnin man'"

"But Rubberduck, wasn't that a long way to go for a pretty lame pun?"

"Well, yes, Jim, yes it was."

Don't worry, Rubberduck, I appreciated the set-up. Thumbs up for being able to quote that, too.

“Yeah, but you don’t [get] kicked out of teaching at a college because you’re brilliant,” *LeSigh* Too true: I remember some truly brilliant professors who struggled to communicate clearly in English, much less actually teach. Learning Linear Algebra from a non-native speaker with no patience is not fun.
V-word of the day is a famous singer who fits the above paragraph well: Salina didn't speak Spanish, but she still sang in the language (beautifully, I might add). Just don't expect her to understand what she just said!

Well know, looks like these kids know of his Grandpa. Also looks like Seamus has made quite a name for himself with the people of the town if just saying his name makes people quite down.

I am with Peter on this one, hybrids are more likely than something that was pushed under a rug.

Huh, actually I kind of believe the energy story. After all frankenstiens take a lot of juice to create.

Rubberduck -
HAHAHAHA! No, I LOVED it! "while me pondered weak and weary..." Great stuff.

I might just have to translate "The Raven" into Rasta now for fun...

Um the Muse -
Yes, I thankfully escaped that fate, but the one math class I DID attend in college (for some reason? can't remember?) were horrific. The dude was incomprehensible. Math was always hard with a GOOD, clearly understandable teacher in high school. With a person I can't understand if they're saying "nine" or "none"...

...shudder...

daymon34 -
Remember, GF is the guy who supposedly tracked down a bunch of high school kids who trespassed on his property on Halloween twenty years ago...and KILLED them.

Supposedly.

It's in PSYCHOS, I think...

THF -
Hmmmm...

Quoth the Rasta, "Neva'mo."

I love the words "withering contempt" together. Her contempt for him escalated to withering heights.

Todd -
Quoting Emily Bronte again, I see.

DA RAVEN

Heeeey mon...

It twas 'pon a mi'night dreary,
While I smoked out, weak an' weary,
Ovah many quaint an' cuuuurious
volumes of irie lore,
While I nodded, nearly nappin', suddenly dere was a tappin',
As of some'un gently rappin', rappin' at my chamber doah, mon.
`'Tis some Rasta brudah,' I muttahed,
`tappin' at my chamber doah, mon -
Only dis, and notink moah.'

What irony - I got "Marge" as my v-word! Marge, aka the lovely Lenore, from the Simpsons "Treehouse Of Terror" retelling of THE RAVEN!

Ja, mon, tis a sign, mon!

Bu' I shall get me 'Marge' no moah...

Quote da Raven, 'Neva'moah.'

"Again"?

BTW, the part in my other post in square brackets [] was missing ;)
VW-henmand. Horrible creatures, out to get you every week? Call the Hen Squad! Henman'd houses will be bothered "nevermore."
