PETER AND THE VAMPIRES is a horror/comedy web novel (and a free podcast!)about a normal, 10-year-old kid who moves into a sinister town filled with supernatural horribleness. The series is composed of different "monster of the week" stories - kind of like THE X-FILES crossed with THE SIMPSONS (if Mr. Burns were a ghoul and something terrifying lived in the town dump). "Peter And The Dead Men" is the first story in the collection. A new page is posted every day.

Maybe Grandpa helped him steal a few, could have been abnormal ones that shouldn't be studied by sane people.
Dill is feeling betrayed, the poor guy. But Peter lives with the man, and he can give on nasty Evil Eye.
LOL I LOVE his reaction that Dill pulled off impersonating him.

Hilarious. I don't blame Grandfather for feeling insulted that Dill was successful :P
I don't understand why Peter was using both a dictionary and a computer to check the definition of "corpse" - am I missing something? It sounded like he typed "corpse" (or "copse" lol!) into the computer and then looked it up in the dictionary, which seems a bit redundant. Love the way Dill thought Dr Veedermeier's greenhouse was full of plants he stole from the uni!
@Cat - perhaps an online dictionary? Kids these days, never crack open a book if they can help it. And it would explain Peter's "I spelled it wrong" rather than "I looked at the wrong word", which was bothering me.
Anyone else find it strange that we don't find it strange that Grandfather is thrown for a loop by the boys' crazy antics, but is utterly unfazed by Dr. V.s ghoulish urges? Does that sentence make sense?

I don't think he ever used the computer - I just said that he used a pocket dictionary next to his mom's laptop. If I did, let me know where it is, because I need to change it.

"I spelled it wrong" bothered you? Maybe I should change it..."looked at the wrong word" does sound a little better...
Word: Broncent. Which is what the actor who played Balki on PERFECT STRANGERS became known as when he went bankrupt. "There goes Broncent Pinchot..."

Oh yeah, I forgot. GF hates childish antics in general (he IS a curmudgeon), but he's had a couple YEARS to get used to Dr. V. Plus, those ghoulish urges even came in handy. But I'll let GF tell the story...
