I'd forgotten that Melissa didn't know about it.
she's got to be feeling awful.
and I'm really liking Grandfather more and more

I agree with Mary. Melissa must be feeling like she doesn't know her own boy by now.

Is this trial meant to sow seeds of doubt in her mind? I think that it's probably a good thing to let her in on what's going on, and this trial is looking like a good way to get her mind moving in the right direction. If that's not the goal, though, I don't know if this works well with a children's story. That said, I'm enjoying it so far. Too bad there's no "cut scenes" for books, huh?

Okay, I'm lost. So Prescott knows they're not criminals because he works with criminals. Fair enough, that helps. Veedermeier regards Peter as a good bloke? That's...less helpful since Dr. V is, you know, insane. Peter and Dill tried to stop him is good, except they've just established that Dr. V isn't a criminal, but insane. So the boys just look like they're being extremely nosy.

I must say, I can feel Pryce's pain at Prescott being so obtuse! First Ranger Failic, now this...the defense isn't doing too well on witnesses.

Pasimot = A type of French dance. Pryce learned it in Brittany to prevent the dead rising using the Danse Macabre.

Seamus might have been right about Prescott, he likes to ramble on and that isn't good on the stand.

The good Dr. V will be scary if he ever gets out, I hope that he stays there for a long time.
