Aww, I wanted to see Gwen before the story was out. Will she make another appearance? Come on you can tell your good old friend Rai. ;)

I love Grandfather's deal with Dill too (but who couldn't guess I would?).

Nice touch with Grandfather reassuring him.
I can't wait to hear the backstory behind that conversation!

I don't see how that wasn't a happy ending...

and as for when you said you couldn't picture Gwen finished.. i always picture the sister from Invader Zim. She had that gothic tough girl thing goin on..

oh and i couldn't tell if you were being facetious about the Elenore thing..

I was at a concert tonight where the sound engineer kept howling. It felt awkwardly appropriate to come home to this segue.

Rai -
Alright, I will go ahead and spill the beans. Gwen will be back - and she will kick ASS when she does, and I am completely serious about that - but not for about five months (the third story after CARNIVAL). So resign yourselves...but know that you'll eventually get what you want. You just gotta wait, that's all. She will also become something of a regular, as well.

Mary -
Wait, what backstory?! I'm being serious, I don't understand...

AnakMoon -
Well...I figured the happy ending would be that the kids zoomed back to when they came from, and were reunited with their families in 1910, 1923, etc. But that's not what happened. They basically just finished the process of dying, which is what upset Peter. Ultimately, he brought about the completion of their deaths. However, YES, it IS good that they got to move on...but it's kind of a bittersweet ending.

Are you talking about the purple-haired girl here? Zim

I'd never heard of Invader Zim before.

And no, I'm being totally serious, I don't know what you mean about Eleanore. I am woefully ignorant when it comes to pop culture of the last 15 years (outside of mainstream movies). The only Eleanore I'm aware of is Eleanore Rigby by the Beatles, and I don't think anybody was whispering her name...

Todd -
Huh? I mean, that's cool, I'm glad it was a good segue...but please elaborate, cuz I ain't got a clue! I don't understand nobody no more...sniff...

Wait, I don't get it.. She will be back in the next story, but she won't kick ass for about 5 months? Or she won't be back entirely for the next 5 months?

As for Dill.. I understand his name now.. he is always trying to make a deal.. Dill makes deals..

I'm so sorry I did that.. forgive me. =[

Oops, hadn't realized that you had already answered the question about why the police showed up. After the explanation, I felt dumb. You're totally right about calling in after the gunshots. They might've even heard the speakers going.
I don't understand the Eleanor thing either, unless it came from the Golden Compass? I didn't watch the movie, but that spelling of daemon (ie. soul; in the story, people had these spirit familiars following them around) fits.
As for Gwen, I haven't seen Invader Zim either, but I imagine Mandy from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy would also fit the "gothic tough girl" image nicely :) About the right age, too, I think.
Woohoo for werewolves!

Good point, that WAS confusing, wasn't it? She will be back in three stories (WEREWOLVES, then another, then the one with Gwen in it). Because WEREWOLVES and the 2nd story are kind of long, it will take about 5 (maybe even 6) months before we see Gwen again.

And yes, I forgive you!

Um the Muse -
No worries. It was actually good you brought it up a second time, since it shows me that's a weak point in the story I should shore up.

Ha ha - if Eleanor is from The Golden Compass, then I guess that means I am woefully ignorant of ALL pop culture, mainstream feature films included.

Haven't seen the Bill & Mandy thing either...I'll have to google it...

Yeah, Gwendolyn as the sister from Invader Zim is a bit what I thought, too. Awesome! I can totally see it!

I'm impatient to see her again in a story, but I'm sure the next two stories will be so good no one will mind the wait!

By the way, you missed out an "it" in the sentence about the mirror: "I promise I won’t hold you up to the mirror and see if sucks out your soul.” :D

Cat -
Thanks! Good catch.

Huh? I mean, that's cool, I'm glad it was a good segue...but please elaborate, cuz I ain't got a clue!

The sound engineer played a werewolf in an independent movie recently and apparently didn't get it out of his system. Or was typecast. I didn't want to ask and encourage him any more than already.

I have come across the idea of a mirror that sucked in children somewhere before, I just can't remember where. But it is probably a very common idea (so I suppose I have seen several variants of the theme).
The shatter the mirror solution is quite obvious too, but I expected that they had to push Gwendolin into the mirror a second time thereby trapping Eng and allowing her to move back. So I was quite puzzled how they would manage THAT! Or perhaps pushing Cyrus into the mirror... The possibilities were endless. But considering the premise of the killed bodies, this ending is one of the most satisfying ones.
