I don't get it, in the first page it said that the cow murders started on Thanksgiving.. so would that mean it would be a similar incident but without dead cows.. because based on page 1 there can't be murdered cows prior to Thanksgiving. Or maybe I'm just crazy, either way, keep them coming.
AnakMoon - Exactly. Plus the lure of something else...
ArtGoddessAthena - Ha ha! So true, so true. If this is your first time posting, thanks! If it's just been a long while, good to have you back again!
Lance - "Ironically, the cow murders happened on Thanksgiving." I just meant the cow murders that Peter and Dill will be dealing with in this story (I was hoping it was a funny and yet macabre opening line). As for the 'previous incident,' that should become clear on Tuesday, as well...
This page was hilarious. I especially got a kick out of the part where the mom "winced, the way a person might when presented with a Valentine’s box of licked chocolates." I read that line to my brother; got him to squirt milk out of his nose :) Welcome, ArtGoddessAthena! We can always use more Greek wisdom ;)
Thanks for the welcomes! I've posted previously under the name BethAthena. I've since gotten Google which automatically puts up the ArtGoddessAthena name, so it looks like that's what my label will be from now on. :)
I've loved this story from day one, though I was very sad that Mercy just got written out. Still, Peter and Grandfather continue to live up to expectations, and at my D&D game last night I called my friend "Dill" 'cause he said something about his character wetting himself. Sadly, I don't think he reads this, so he didn't get the reference.
I check this page daily, and it always makes me happy to see an update. I'm just usually silent because I don't have much input to contribute.
Um the Muse - Thank you! I'm glad your brother had a nose spit-take at it!
todd - Uhhhh...you should probably read the rest.
ArtGoddessAthena - Ahhhh! I remember your previous name now!
Thank you! About Mercy: it'll probably take years to know for sure, but don't count her ALLLL the way out just yet...
Hey, tell your friend! I need all the new readers I can get!
In fact, anybody who doesn't mind, please recommend the site to anybody you think might like it! I'm trying to build up an army of readers so I can go to a publisher or agent and say, "Hey, I've already got an audience of 5,000..."
(Unfortunately, I'm nowhere near that amount right now.)
And on not having input to contribute - pshaw! Just say hello every once in awhile, or note something you liked, or point out a grammatical error...or around Thanksgiving, post a recipe!
PETER AND THE VAMPIRES is a horror/comedy web novel (and a free podcast!)about a normal, 10-year-old kid who moves into a sinister town filled with supernatural horribleness. The series is composed of different "monster of the week" stories - kind of like THE X-FILES crossed with THE SIMPSONS (if Mr. Burns were a ghoul and something terrifying lived in the town dump). "Peter And The Dead Men" is the first story in the collection. A new page is posted every day.

Not sure I understand the "sheer excitement" part. Sarcastic or sincere?
maybe they think they can go along... or they already know what the 'problems' have been cause she said "another incident" ...
By now, those kids should know better than to get excited about anything odd...

It's a conspiracy: the werewolves are renegade cows. Now I don't need to read the rest.

I second the motion!
Renegade cow-werewolves, good grief.
