awww...way too short to be 2 pages!
and i don't think the saying, "looks can be deceiving" works here... i think looks, are exactly what they are.
Curiosity killed the frat.
I really love that this went up before midnight. No need to refresh the page!
Technically the word is "poseur."
Dill is a poseur haha. I just realized though. Dill can't blame this one on the indians like most of the other ones. :)
I like that one Fiona, it made me chuckle.
Well now, looks like he is going to come up to his change in a bit. I wonder how Peter and Dill are going to take it. They have seen more than this Kyle guy has and hopefully know to run or grab some silver and hit him with it.
I'm wondering, why was the old man so willing to accept dollars? Since it was such an old-film-style town, with hardly anyone speaking English. Unless Kyle meant that he had the equivalent of about $300 in leu...?
Woohoo for double update! I sometimes resist reading for a few days so I can read more in one go (usually takes quite a bit of willpower though!), but this is even better! Only thing is, does that mean we don't get an update tomorrow? :(
Rai, gypsies could be likened to Indians - I bet Dill could find a way! :D
lots of people prefer dollars over their own currency; it's more dependable. OTOH, so is the Euro. Romania is part of the EU, though I don't think they use the Euro (could be wrong, though).
I think there's a pretty good connection between the First People and Gypsies, but I don't think that Dill will really think that way.
To all:
Yeah, things were getting a little slow in Kyle's tale. When I'M saying "Let's hurry this up," it's time for a two-pager.
AnakMoon -
Complain, complain! Think of it as a freebie page!
Fiona -
Haha! Good one!
Todd -
I have a difficult time thinking that any word with "eur" at the end would come out of Peter's brain at 10 years old, that's all.
Sk8er lingo, though, that's allowable.
Rai -
True. Now it'll be, "Not those dang gypsies!"
daymon34 -
I second that.
You ask why Dill is important? Because he's seen all the horror movies, that's why.
Cat -
Call it a momentary author goof. Call it an elision in the storytelling so that I don't have to explain euros to Peter and Dill.
But I'll go with Um the Muse's explanation...
Nope, you just got a two-fer, that's all. :)
Um the Muse -
I'm going with your explanation, Um. We'll say that this happened after the 2008 economic crisis, and that lots of people wanted American dollars (for instance, Gypsies steal all tourists' currencies, but some are more preferred than others).
What are First People? Is that another name for Native Americans (or people like Australian Aborigines)?
