Why isn't Peter insisting they go back? He should recognize by now that Kyle is insane! It should be getting through the fog in Dill's brain even after that story that something ain't right... I just wanna reach in and grab the boys by the ears and march em home! Where it's... well i was gonna say safe but we all know that's not true
Peter and Dill should know from their experience that drinking some special blood can work miracles... This is how Mercy became a vampire and considering how often you bring that up I'm sort of surprised they didn't think about it (especially after the Dracula/Vampire references before). And after the story Peter should know that Kyle got turned into some monster (even if he doesn't know about the werewolf connection, and usually this works with being bitten too), which could explain their strange behavior he noted before.
AnakMoon - Haha! Well, okay then, complain some more, since you got another two-fer.
As for Peter insisting...it's coming...
Eldoran - Thanks for writing in! As an example of how valuable my readers' comments are, I have to point to yours specifically. Tomorrow's post didn't have anything about Mercy drinking the tablespoon of blood scrapings her parents gave her, yet you're right - that should have been first and foremost on Peter's mind when he heard this tale. So, thanks to you, Eldoran, I added about an extra six sentences to tomorrow's blog post to deal with that very topic! Thanks for pointing it out! You actually influenced the writing of the story!
I wanna influence the story. You promised me a sequel with vegan girl werewolves ravaging corn fields!! ;)
I kinda hope Peter takes this as a clue to ask Charlie to take him back to his mom now though. I feel as though the next chapter is going to bring much fear... well much more fear.
Todd- Or have fallen asleep in the mashed potatoes!
Darren- I read Serpent & the Rainbow back in college. I was amazed that my library had a copy of the book as the movie is far easier to find. (and has surprisingly little to do with the novel as I recall.) I love both but they STILL scare the living daylights out of me!
Wow, I'd hate to be the maid who had to clean *that* room! On second thoughts, they're probably all dead anyway :P
The Serpent and the Rainbow sounds really creepy - I hadn't heard of it before. I won't be taking any strange powder that people offer me from now on!
As for the currency thing, I'm sure that a ten-year-old could grasp the concept that as well as speaking different languages, other countries have different money :D
Mary - I need to read the book. I loved everything in the movie (read: it scared the crap out of me) until the final showdown in the last 20 minutes, which I thought was lame.
But I also read an article on the writer, and the book sounds fascinating (and you're right, virtually NOTHING like the movie).
Cat - I never even considered the poor maid who would have to clean up afterwards...
Okay, okay, okay, I'll take the currency thing under advisement.
Todd - I didn't get it until you pointed it out. Very funny indeed, Cat! You and Keith Richards, who supposedly would pick up any pill or plastic baggie fans would throw up on stage and injest/inhale it.
Maybe that's why he looks like he's 300 years old. And why they have supposedly replaced all the blood in his body three or four times. (That last part sounds like a good plot point for a PETER story...)
PETER AND THE VAMPIRES is a horror/comedy web novel (and a free podcast!)about a normal, 10-year-old kid who moves into a sinister town filled with supernatural horribleness. The series is composed of different "monster of the week" stories - kind of like THE X-FILES crossed with THE SIMPSONS (if Mr. Burns were a ghoul and something terrifying lived in the town dump). "Peter And The Dead Men" is the first story in the collection. A new page is posted every day.

Kyle's story is taking so long, I'm wondering if the other frat boys will have changed by the time he's through with it.

Yep waking up covered in blood would freak anyone out at least the first time.
If I was Peter I would probably be making my way towards the door slowly right about now.
Yay extra story again!

"From now on," ha ha.

Haha! Someday, someday...

That's why I did double pages!
