PETER AND THE VAMPIRES is a horror/comedy web novel (and a free podcast!)about a normal, 10-year-old kid who moves into a sinister town filled with supernatural horribleness. The series is composed of different "monster of the week" stories - kind of like THE X-FILES crossed with THE SIMPSONS (if Mr. Burns were a ghoul and something terrifying lived in the town dump). "Peter And The Dead Men" is the first story in the collection. A new page is posted every day.

Well to Gwen's credit those suckers hurt at that range, that's the first thing they tell you at a range. Do not shoot someone at close range, and boy is that going to leave a bruise.
Alright all armed up and now it's time to take out those killer cookies.
I was just thinking that someone needed to introduce Gwen to paintball, and then bam! She has a paintball arsenal :) BBs can be pretty painful too, even the biodegradable plastic ones. If she's using metal ones and the guns are powerful enough they can be lethal (so shooting Dill in the forehead with one isn't a good idea, however tempting!).
Anyway, unless Dill can be persuaded not to use all his ammo on Gwen he'll never get to see how effective paintballs are against gingerbread men, which I'm sure he'll regret for the rest of his short life ;)
All right, Gwendolyn is officially my new favourite character, and probably the very best person they could have with them right now in the absence of Grandfather. Assuming, that is, that she and Dill don't do the gingerbread men's work for them by killing each other...
Hopefully this time the site will not keep giving me endless OpenID errors when I try to post, though if it does, I promise to define as many word verification words as it gives me.
On which note, ujele: a Yoruba coming-of-age ceremony involving the playing of a small ukulele made of coconut jelly, which is usually eaten after the musical component of the ceremony is completed.
I'm betting she either decks him or he forgets to take of the safety and ends up looking like a fool
Good thing Gwen couldn't get at the real guns--A Dill should never be allowed a gun and B They're probably going to go through ammo by the bucket-load as it is.
