Mr. Baxter, the man who ran the bakery. He was never able to shake the stigma of not being a proper baker, and always apologised to people who had to use the lengthened form of his job.

Tooff = What small children have in their mouths, especially when they lose one.

Haha! I guess I never thought of it that way. It just seems so 1890's England to say 'the baker'...like the butcher, or the candlestick maker...
