PETER AND THE VAMPIRES is a horror/comedy web novel (and a free podcast!)about a normal, 10-year-old kid who moves into a sinister town filled with supernatural horribleness. The series is composed of different "monster of the week" stories - kind of like THE X-FILES crossed with THE SIMPSONS (if Mr. Burns were a ghoul and something terrifying lived in the town dump). "Peter And The Dead Men" is the first story in the collection. A new page is posted every day.

Since Dill got bitten, does he have any immunity to hypothermia? Not that I want his mortality put to the test.
This might be the rescue team with Snowshoes in a down to earth horror story.
This situation is begging for a "out of the frying pan into the oven" scenario. A real classic, for example in Star Wars - Luke was "rescued" by a wampa.
Ten virtual dollars says it's creepy Indian guy in a parka and he was sent/alerted by grandfather to keep an eye out on the boys.
P.S. Darren, did you ever see an old show called Alter Ego?
