PETER AND THE VAMPIRES is a horror/comedy web novel (and a free podcast!)about a normal, 10-year-old kid who moves into a sinister town filled with supernatural horribleness. The series is composed of different "monster of the week" stories - kind of like THE X-FILES crossed with THE SIMPSONS (if Mr. Burns were a ghoul and something terrifying lived in the town dump). "Peter And The Dead Men" is the first story in the collection. A new page is posted every day.

Ooh, very interesting! At last we get some info on the metaplot from an outside source...
WV: homphies: a Southern US snack consisting of small nuggets of battered, deep-fried lard.
@Darren's comment yesterday: Nope, no hacking. But a story involving skiing just wouldn't be the same without hot chocolate. Also, this reminds me of an old Scooby Doo episode with a similar Snow Demon/Big Foot or something similar.

I know! I used to have a Viewmaster slide of that Scooby Doo episode. I think that might have been the subconscious impetus for this story...
