Maybe he isn't upset, after all. "Aww, how nice, Pachee got me two little boys for Christmas."
Going back to an earlier comment I'd made, Darren, you still haven't mentioned how Gus caught up with Stu's snow machine. Was that a mistake? Maybe it just didn't fit any where?
Also, I think we should avoid any more mentions of a certain Jedi weapon, just to make Darren's prophesy wrong ;)
Um - Actually, yes, Gus DOES have a snowmobile. He got on it during the skiing class that Stu taught, and he also drove the boys back to his cabin using it.
Did he use it to get to the fallen tree? Probably. I initially thought maybe Gus just ran out there, but considering there's a blizzard and a good foot of snow on the ground, he probably couldn't have covered 200-300 yards in 60-90 seconds. So yes, he used the snowmobile. Peter just couldn't hear it over the wind, nor could he see it in the darkness behind Gus.
Maybe Gus even followed them on the snowmobile before he even heard the tree fall...we'll find out more about that in the next story, I think.
PETER AND THE VAMPIRES is a horror/comedy web novel (and a free podcast!)about a normal, 10-year-old kid who moves into a sinister town filled with supernatural horribleness. The series is composed of different "monster of the week" stories - kind of like THE X-FILES crossed with THE SIMPSONS (if Mr. Burns were a ghoul and something terrifying lived in the town dump). "Peter And The Dead Men" is the first story in the collection. A new page is posted every day.

Seaspray -
Hahaha! That, and dinner.
By the way, am I missing the joke about 'Pachee'? Is that like Apache?
Um the Muse -
That's right! I totally forgot to answer that question...
I'm here for unnecessary filler so that Um the Muse thinks Darren didn't answer the question again.
