It's creepier when people do horrible things to children than when vampires or werewolves do.

Aree they collecting souls because they can..
or because they need them..
maybe the circus folk are cursed too...

That could be one explanation why he kind of senses or feels when Peter is around..maybe they were cursed by the same gypsies and Cyrus can somehow feel some sort of weird connection between him and other 'tainted' or 'burdoned' souls...

Ah, that explains how they haven't been caught so far.
I think they need the kids to stay alive (young). As Peter did see some of the kids were old and wrinkled in the mirrors. So I think they keep them to age for the troup.

Sorry Darren...
I just get a little hyper...
._.'

It's a very bad habit I have, and i usually say other words...

Anyway, HUZZAH to Anakmoon for adopting my gypsy theory! Well at least that the carnies were cursed by gypsies.

They still scare me.
;A;

Oh Gwen, rally the other mirror people and riot! RIOT LIKE YOU'VE NEVER RIOTED BEFORE!

Wow, that's kind of... I mean really wrong. Kidnapping souls or whatever, then taking control of the body and killing it. Poor Gwen. If I didn't know Peter would save her... I mean, he is going to save her isn't he? Isn't he? D:

I keep trying to remember to comment at the end of every page, but the story is so addictive! I can't help just reading it in a big block 'till I'm caught up hehe...
I really like this story, you've written it particularly well!
As for bringing it to TV, I can totally picture it being an awesome cartoon. Lets you get as creative as you want without reality setting in too hard haha.

To everyone: there are some dang good guessers among my readers...but I'm not saying who...

Todd -
I agree wholeheartedly.

AnakMoon -
Hmmm...can't say anything quite yet...

daymon34 -
Ditto on my comment to AnakMoon...

N7 -
All is forgiven! And I like that you're so passionate about the story, it's a really big compliment to me - so thank you for that.

And I think I am going to have to use that line in some future story: RIOT! RIOT LIKE YOU'VE NEVER RIOTED BEFORE!

Rai -
I TOTALLY agree wholeheartedly. I think that this group of villains is probably more evil than any we've seen so far in Duskerville.

DontPanik -
I'm glad you comment, no matter where you do it!

Thanks for the compliments - and I'm glad this story hooked you in! That's all I'm trying to do: provide entertainment crack to my readers...

By the way, the meetings went pretty well over the weekend. I have a few leads I intend to follow up that could lead to getting a literary agent for publication (my number one goal). As far as the TV/movie part, I got some very favorable reactions, but you never know if people are just being nice and supportive without really intending to check out the material. Let's hope at least a couple were genuinely interested.

Stormy Llew, thanks for the tip.

Darren, shades of Ray Bradbury! You must be a fan. Well done.
