Time to call in the big guns, here is hoping that Grandpa has something to take on these kids. Or at least has a guess as to what they are since the Peter doesn't know just yet.
Dill should get a good scare here in a little bit, maybe when one of them walks past the door transformed.
Dill should never again admit to watching a million horror movies cause his instincts area bout as good as the actors in the movies. Upstairs instead of the back door, towards the scary noise instead of away, not listen to your best friend when they are worried.
Oh and i've a suggestion for the House name HMM. When said in the greek letters its Eta, Mu, Mu. like 'eat a cow'
I know it is frustrating how ignorant Dill is, but this IS unfortunately how Dill is supposed to be. Peter is the observant one, possibly cursed to stumble into any mystery nearby and might even be blessed with some insights (see the lights that showed him the right book in the library). Dill on the other hand is a quite loyal friend, which has seen too many unsuitable horror movies, but has always been easily distracted and usually doesn't believe in the danger until proven otherwise. He trust Peters witness accounts after some discussions though. In this case Peter has no "proof" and he is still distracted by Kyle's awesomeness... And Dill is a daredevil, so "this could be dangerous" matters only if it doesn't promise a lot of fun.
Smart Peter. Very smart. I thought he was going to call his mom. I wonder what Charlie told them though. They seem a bit too angry. Maybe something along the lines of "The boys wanted to go home, so I let them." But why would he put himself at so much risk for letting his "initiation" get away.
Poor Charlie. I think he's in more danger right now than the boys are.
I would suspect Charlie has scruples killing "innocent" children instead of "only" animals and he has not much to gain. He seems to have a crush on Peter's mom, so killing her family is bad, besides is causing her troubles (extra work) and that means even more time she will spend with his rival - Mr. Willins. Last but not least, he seems to be the nerdy type, so he is most likely the lowest ranking in the fraternity and he will be the omega member of the pack - forever. As a good student he might rise in social status in a few years and I suppose "proving his loyalty" included a lot of things he abhorred. He might have found out that there is simply nothing to gain for him, but he found no safe way to quit (sort of like to quit a gang or the mafia).
Dill only sells him out as long as he believes that it is "harmless", admittedly by his own definition, which includes climbing trees and houses by night. On the other hand Dill grudgingly even accompanies Peter in obviously dangerous situations and while scared to death.
Todd - Sigh. You're definitely not big on Dill right now, are you?
THF - Sigh. YOU TOU?!
Todd Pt 2 - Okay, that was funny...
daymon34 - Silver bullets! Oh, wait, you're right, he doesn't know what they are yet...
AnakMoon - Good point. Dill should watch SCREAM and take notes.
Excellent! Love the new frat name!
Eldoran - Yup. Dill wouldn't be Dill if he weren't so exasperating.
I'd say you nailed the character profiles pretty well.
Fiona - Glad you like the chapter - I agree about the comments!
Rai - That last sentence is 100% right.
Mary - Haha! Or "Come on baby, let's go for a walk" or "down by the lake" or "out in the barn." I don't know who he'd be calling 'baby' - maybe some soh-sority chick, trying to prove he thinks they're hot...
Eldoran Pt 2 - Well...I can pretty much assure you Charlie's not really thinking of the extra work it will cause Ms. Normal...
Actually, Charlie hasn't 'made his bones' yet. That was going to come later Thanksgiving night...
Todd Pt 3 - Oh, Todd, just cuz you're the bandleader of the "Hate On Dill" Committee...haven't you ever acted badly towards a friend for a stupid, stupid reason?
Like thinking you were going to get something (Popularity? Girls? A guy who would beat up your hated older brothers?) you really, really desired?
That does make more sense, but I don't think Charlie said it.
Eldoran Pt 2 - Good point. Think of every time where Dill accompanied Peter into the jaws of death, even though he really, REALLY didn't want to. He's earned a couple dozen points to weigh against his being a punk for half a story.
PETER AND THE VAMPIRES is a horror/comedy web novel (and a free podcast!)about a normal, 10-year-old kid who moves into a sinister town filled with supernatural horribleness. The series is composed of different "monster of the week" stories - kind of like THE X-FILES crossed with THE SIMPSONS (if Mr. Burns were a ghoul and something terrifying lived in the town dump). "Peter And The Dead Men" is the first story in the collection. A new page is posted every day.

Right now, I half-hope Dill gets eaten. Getting eaten is cool.
I kind of second the getting eaten. He sure can be annoying. I wonder what Granddad will make of this.
If it were just Dill, Granddad would pass Kyle the salt and pepper.

Here's to hoping that Dill doesn't say, "I'll be right back!"
And whoo hoo to Grandfather getting involved.

Dill on the other hand is a quite loyal friend,
Who has sold out Peter at pretty much every opportunity in this story.
Maybe something along the lines of "The boys wanted to go home, so I let them."
"They went out the back door before I could stop them" makes more sense, unless he wants to be executed for treachery to the pack.
Dill only sells him out as long as he believes that it is "harmless", admittedly by his own definition, which includes climbing trees and houses by night.

As far as frat names go, they don't have to be three letters. Two is just fine (if you find two you like).
Also, HMM would more likely be said 'ate a mew mew' than 'eat a moo moo.' In addition, Kappa Alpha Omicron sounds much more fratty than Eta Mu Mu
