Veddy intevesting, to climb upon the wires that cross the roads, now if it is a thick metal cable it must be a power line, something on the order of tri-plex. But never fear as long as they don't touch any other wires simulaneously on this particular journey they should be okay.
Dill does have a simplisticly realistic answer for Peter when discussing getting all the way across, because it is a LOT easier to go sideways instead of up. Now as for the dismount I would be scared out of my wits. Honestly, I can go up, wander around on whatever medium we are talking about, but the transfer period to getting down is where I freeze. So my best friends for getting to high places are climbing tree stands and bucket trucks, no real transition period.

Golly! How exciting.

All of this running around more or less a stall tactic, delaying the inevitable. Do you think that they could use the wire to electrocute the werewolves? They'd probably need to cross first, to buy themselves enough time, but otherwise I don't see any way for them to get out of this bind.

Well the closer they get to civilization the better. And the more they keep out of reach the greater chance Grandfather has of coming to save them. If he comes... I'm still holding onto the hope that he is.

Besides, Melissa and Boss are still there. Eventually if they can run long enough she'll look at the time and call the frat house or something.

Well a thick cable could get them away, here is to hoping that it holds their weight.

What are they doing, just getting some air.

Ah. the age-old escape tactic of monkeys against wolves.

Electrocuting the werewolves would probably work - electricity wasn't really around when most of the legends were formed, so there's nothing to say they're immune :P

I'd be more worried about one of the werewolves seeing them climbing across, because then they'll be sitting ducks and vulnerable to ambush from both ends of the wire.

Verification: temock. As in, "The boys used the wires temock the werewolves"...

hypested

Dill hypested Melissa into letting him come to the university. He's probably regretting that now.

It is at least a quite probable escape route. Such a thick cable should be strong enough (I have seen them holding uprooted trees in some news reports). And this is place where the werewolves can't easily follow - no opposable thumbs, unless they are really good at tightrope walking :D.
the real practical trouble is whether they are safe on the other side. I think it that would be the KAO house, even if that would be another one it doesn't prevent Jon or Chubbs from breaking into the other house. And they will need quite some time to cross - enough for one of the weres to watch from below and for the other to enter the buildings or try to cut the cable - gnaw? In this case electricity might be the lifesaver for Peter and Dill (even if it doesn't kill them, it surely hurts and should stun them). After all this time Kyle might have regained consciousness, that would leave enough "wolf"-power to completely surround them. That much planning might depend on how much logical thinking they have left though.

Has this been established?

Amy -
If only there were a bucket truck nearby!

THF -
Hey THF! Thanks for writing in!

I thought you were going to say monkeys against alligators.

True, there are a whole host of things that exist when werewolves first got their start in evil lore.

Fiona -
Or, if you read it like hype - sted, "Dill hypested up the whole being famous thing so much that the boys made a really, REALLY bad choice."

Eldoran -
I'm glad to hear you say that you've seen telephone wires supporting uprooted trees, because my number one fear was somebody was going to say, "That's impossible!"

Well, not my NUMBER ONE fear, but my number one fear from yesterday's post...

Todd -
Not really, no. But actually, I think they don't have opposable thumbs, because of something that will happen in about 10 pages...

V-word: onessias. "When Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis made messes, she referred to them as Onessias."
